Sermons and other works, [circa 1680-1710].

Bound collection of manuscripts in the hand of Alexander Croke. Most of the material consists of sermons and sermon drafts; many sermons are annotated with dates and places of preaching, including Hartwell, Aylesbury, and Carfax. The volume also contains "Directions for the beginning a compleat course in the Study of Divinity" and copies of formal Latin letters to and from members of Wadham College, probably composed as Latin exercises.

Alexander Croke, son of William Croke of Studley Priory, was educated at Wadham College, Oxford and ordained in 1689. He was rector of Hartwell from 1694 until his death in 1726.
